R/Rt VwK UW solo build.. any good?
Hi everybody,
First thing to say, I`m new in that GW world (started a month ago or something like that) and I decided to make my own farming build.
I haven`t made the build yet because (as a new commer) still suffer that gold problem, so I have just the enough amount for one single build.
This is what the build should be like:
Expertise 14 (10+3+1)
Wildness Survival 11 (10+1)
Restoration Magic 11
Skills
Vengeful Was Khanhei {E}
Blind Was Mingson
Weapon of Shadow
Troll Unguent
Zojun's Haste
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Optional
The strategy:
First, use Blind Was Mingson (cast then drop)to blind mobs, VwK as a damage dealer. always keep TU on. Using skills 5,6,7 for a sticky 75% blocking. Weapon of shadow can be used in critical situations (if u missed up somehow) to cause some more blind.
with a 90% miss from blind + 75% blocking + TU I guess this build can tank alot.
So as this is my first post here I really need help. plz don let me down .
Sorry for bad english.

Nah that wouldnt work actually. VwK requires that the enemy hits you so your blind kills your damage. Ditto with the block stances. Also, note that dodge only lets you block projectile attacks.
However what might work is putting up TU and VwK and dont put blind on so that you deal damage. Then just as VwK is about to run out cast BwM for the AoE blindness. This will then give you time to recast TU and regen whatever dmg you may have taken through VwK. Keep up the blindness uptil VwK is recharged and repeat the cycle.
I dont think this would work too good vs heavy hitters and huge groups because the dmg might outweigh your healing. I suppose you could keep up the stances while in VwK as extra protection but that would significantly reduce the dmg you are dealing.
All in all it would probably not be very effective and you might be better off looking at different elites where the dmg isnt conditional to you being hit. You might be able to work something out with Spitefull Spirit for example. Group them all up nicely and you could blind them all with Throw Dirt and you can have all the block stances you want because they will take dmg whether they hit or not.
But just keep looking around because thats how you make good builds. gl
Edit: Something I noticed about your attribute spread: Put your wilderness survival at either 10, 12, or 14 since those are the cutoff points for 8, 9, and 10 regen respectivly.

The problem with this build is that you wont be utilizing vwk to it full potential as VwK only triggers on hits from enemies. Therefore all the blocking and missing from blind would negate Vwk's effectiveness.
I think that a r/e might work better with glyph of renewal for the elite used in conjunction with sliver armor. GoR can be used to keep sliver armor up constantly, further more you could use storm chaser and stone stalker (and/or armor of earth or kinetic armor for that matter) to further reduce dmg that you do take and for energy management.

Ya that would probably work much better. You would get your permanent blocking (although only 45%) and damage from Sliver Armor with damage reduction from Stone Striker + Earthbound Insignias and plenty of energy from Storm Chaser. That would leave 3 slots open for whatever then, assuming you brought TU for healing. Also you could try Stoneflesh Aura as well as Kinetic and Armor of Earth as another dmg reducer. If at this point you are taking no dmg I would suggest Ebon Battle Standard of Honor and/or "By Ural's Hammer" as the last 2 skills.

Thanks alot for the great replys really helps.
But I already have a silver armor build (A/E) + SF and it`s working well. And actually I don`t need to repeat myself.
I also have a 55 set for E/Mo so a 55 build isn`t required too.
As u see I need something to have some action in it (as farming with SF, Silver armor or 55 turned to be so boring after a while)
So I tryed to use another build (still in the r/rt build) but I tryed to do something better.
First I used some rt AoE skills as it recharges really fast + good damage + low energy cost.
So the build goes like this:
Expertise 14 (10+3+1)
WS 10 (9+1)
Channeling 11
Spirit Rift
Ancestors' Rage
TU
Escape {E}
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Optional
Optional
Well, I tested the build .. can tank well and kills very fast (20 to 30 secs max).
With a +12 energy staff + some extra energy I can spam skills for about 40 to 45 secs (tested @ practice targets)
Wish this one will work well .
